New and Improved Office Hours

There has been a slight change of plans regarding the shack and the opening hours. The shack used to be open for three hours a day, with a different board member present each day. However, we feel that, especially with the small 3-hour window, that this didn’t create ample opportunity for members to drop by at their leisure. In the end, this is the shack’s primary intended use. It’s a place for members to gather and grab a drink and biscuit first, an association office second. We feel that creating more opportuniy for members to drop by spontaneously, rather than having to plan out their visits in-between lectures and so on, creates a more welcoming community. Because of the extended hours and the fact that most board members will still be taking courses, you might not have the same board member throughout the entire day, but this too is part of creating said community. In the end, every board member should provide equal care and company for the members.

The new Office Hours will be 11:00 – 16:00 from Monday to Thursday. We’ll be closed on Friday, not only so that the board members can have some time to actually study, buit also because most members will have better things to do and kick-off their weekend.
We hope this change will have a positive effect on member participation, the atmosphere at the shack, and Albion as a whole.
