Monthly Recap: November ’15
Another month, another recap; you could almost speak of a trend. We’ve had our fair share of monthly banter in November, because let’s not forget that we had another Lustrum activity: Albion Parent’s Day. They’ve seen the sights, they’ve lived the life, we’ve shown your parents what it’s like to be an Albioneer, but only for a day. Aside from the sightseeing, we’ve enjoyed some of our studies signature lectures, so who knows, we might be getting some extra “senior” members next year. I can only hope. In the category of fun and games we also did IKEA Hide and Seek and as far as we know all participants are accounted for, so it seems none were too good. And a month without parties is a month not worth living, so this month we were treated to Mix it Up’s Sexy Sleepover and Futurama5. Nothing can please a board member more than seeing all your lovely intoxicated little faces, so well done. But enough about drinking, hiding, and parental love. We’ve also had some very substantial activities in the form of our first Student Assembly and our first symposium. As far as the Assembly goes, it was a huge hit. I really hope this wasn’t all due to the fact that we had pizza up front, because the discussion we had afterwards was well worth it. Our beloved teachers Simon, Koen and Lieke were also present and more than ready to spar with their students about the silent seminars. I can’t stress enough how much of a difference these assemblies can make. Yes, we love to organise any excuse for you to indulge in your recreational alcoholism, but we also try to offer the opportunity to take control of your studies and make a difference for yourself and your peers, the assemblies are one of the ways in which we try to accomodate this. And last, but certainly not least, there was our first symposium where we could all enjoy the passionate words of Roselinde, Aoju and David. Make no mistake, when you give teachers the freedom to talk about the subjects they love, any lecture will become interesting. Now, on to the month of holidays.
