Monthly Recap: September ’15

Oh deary me, the first month of the academic year has come and gone which can only mean that it’s time for the first monthly recap. I am going to boldly assume that all of our new members have read every single post on our website in anticipation for their initiation as Albion-members, but to those very few that haven’t: the Monthly Recap is our monthly segment where we go over the events of the past month. Honestly, the clue is in the title so I am not sure why we would have to explain this to you, but there you go.

September is the month of settling into your new study, or rediscovering a long-lost love for your courses after a summer of idleness. Aside from resuming your studies, many of you have signed-up for one (or more) of our wonderful committees and are now well under way with filling the year with Albion-activities. But let’s do what this recap is meant to do, look back at where our month began: the introduction. All of the new students have gone through Utrecht, seen the sights, drank the coffee, listened to the lectures, and had their first taste of Thursday night at TivoliVredenburg. We’ve also had our first monthly drink at the good ol’ Mick O’ Connell’s, which was a little more crowded than usual, but the more the merrier.

Let’s not forget the most important thing of all, the thing that can make or break (or breaking by making) the year of any student: parties. We’ve had two lovely parties this month. A5 kicked us off with Anders bel ik mijn papa5 at Lieve Lust, and what a night that was. We’ve all enjoyed watching the posh lads and ladies try their best to drink their way through daddy’s trust fund. Truly a night of the beer-stained white collar.
This smashing get-together was followed by Let’s Go Nemo at Club Poema. We’ve drowned in oceans of alcohol, flailed our flippers on the dancefloor, and got hooked to partying. We hope to continue this rate of succes throughout the year.

I hope you’re all looking back to September as fondly as we are, but let us also look toward the future. Let’s make October, the month in which Albion celebrates its 25th birthday, a month to remember.

With love,

Nick, Georgia-Rae, Laurien, Niki and Maarten
